Our vision is of a Forest Row where people feel inspired and happily commit to making a positive difference in the life of the village, reaching out to anyone who feels isolated or lonely, working together to embrace our diversity and create a more connected community.
We are a 5 year old independent community organisation aiming to reduce social isolation in the village, particularly of the elderly. Our committee of 5 currently includes Sara Smart, who works as Community Services Officer for the Parish Council.
We run a befriending service, together with a monthly Wednesday lunch club, which meets in the Community Centre and runs outings 6 or 8 times a year to local places of interest (and the seaside once a year).
We have been funded, and continue to be, by Sussex Community Foundation. We have recently begun to work much more closely with the Parish Council’s ‘FRow Friends’ initiative, initially to take advantage of their work in attracting volunteers across the range of ‘FRow Friends’ activities.
Who we are
Our committee is made up of volunteers who live locally to Forest Row.
